VS10xx MP3 Decoder Library

Overview

This VS1001k is a standalone MP3 decoder from VLSI. It supports MP3s up to 240kbps and has a build in DAC with a headphone output.

I used this MP3 decoder in my first MP3 project.The source code is written in mikroPascal and a library for the VS1001k can be downloaded below.

• Supports MPEG 1 & 2, and 2.5 extensions, all their sample rates and bit rates, in mono

• Operates with single clock 12 - 13 MHz or 24 - 26 MHz

• On-chip high-quality stereo DAC with no phase error between channels
• Stereo earphone driver capable of driving a 30­ ohm load.
• Separate 2.5 - 3.6V operating voltages for analog and digital
• 4 KiB On-chip RAM for user code
• Serial control and data interfaces
• New functions may be added with software
